"I am writing to tell you about my recent experience buying hiking boots in Winnipeg. I had been looking for new boots for awhile and needed to find something in December as we are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in February.  For me, shopping for footwear is an enormous challenge as my feet are nearly three sizes different and my small foot has a very high arch and is a different shape from the other foot. I wear custom orthotics also. I went to the Regent Avenue store and was helped by Allison Machovec. I was there for nearly an hour trying on many pairs.  Allison was the best person I have ever had help me try to find a good fit. She was very patient as I have to walk around quite a bit to tell if the boot feels OK and many boots just don't work on my small foot.  She was very knowledgeable about the anatomy of the foot and the various products in the store. I have to buy two pairs in order to fit each foot so it is a lot of work for a clerk when I try on many pairs as I did that day. She was so understanding of the frustrations I feel trying to buy footwear. So, I am writing to let you know that Allison is the best person I have ever had try to fit my feet because of her knowledge and also her caring and understanding for the customer.  Having to buy footwear is such a difficult experience, and having to pay for two pairs makes it worse...at least I know I can go somewhere and have great service."
