Sandy Connery BSc C, Ped (C) Sandy Connery - A graduate of the University of Waterloo in Kinesiology, Sandy attained her Certified Pedorthist ( Canada) in 1994 and started her pedorthic career at the University of Western Ontario’s Sport Medicine clinic. After six years in Ontario, she returned home to Calgary to be closer to her family and the mountains. In 2001, she opened the FootHealth Centre with her partner company Canadian Footwear in Winnipeg in response to her orthotics clients’ frustration at the general lack of comfortable shoes capable of accommodating orthotics. Further frustrated by the lack of knowledgeable staff in retail shoe stores, clients often asked Sandy to recommend footwear other than running shoes. Opening the FootHealth Centre allows Sandy to assist her clients find the shoes they want while allowing her to ensure the shoes are biomechanically sound and appropriate to heal their symptoms. Sandy is the current Chair of the Canadian Pedorthic College and the Past President of the Pedorthic Association of Canada. She is also an instructor for the diploma in pedorthics program at the University of Waterloo. Sandy’s other interests include yoga, scrambling, cycling and training her Border Collie. |
